Qualifications

  • Your resume must also demonstrate at least five years of specialized experience or equivalent in a non-profit, private, or public sector
  • Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social)
  • Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree: in mathematics and computer science or bachelor’s degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science
  • Specialized experience must demonstrate at least five years of experience in data analytics, governance, business analysis, and knowledge management with the combination of statistical  and mathematical works that included differential and integral calculus
  • All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
  • Master’s Degree: Big Data Analytics.
  • Certification: Knowledge management, knowledge management specialist
  • The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the master’s level) that is appropriate for the position
  • Preferred candidate must have a combination of certification, bachelor’s, and master’s level education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study plus additional education or appropriate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor data and analytics infrastructure and systems that provide reliable and timely information used to manage the research portfolio and business functions for a non-profit.
  • We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong skills in Python and knowledge management strategy, as well as experience with HTML for maintaining existing web page builds
  • Your role will involve developing and running data analyses, creating insightful visualizations, and ensuring the functionality and upkeep of our web-based data presentation tools
  • Data Processing: (Data management and curation, data description and visualization, workflow and reproducibility)
  • Modeling, Inference, and Prediction: (Data modeling and assessment, domain-specific considerations)
  • Devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets
  • Make and communicate principled conclusions from data using elements of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application-specific knowledge
  • Through analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, and/or another appropriate scientific method, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure that account for the unique features and limitations inherent in Government data holdings
  • Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others and drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Making informed recommendations regarding competing technical solutions by maintaining awareness of the constantly shifting Government collection, processing, storage, and analytic capabilities and limitations
  • Helping knowledge managers interpret data-driven insights and use them strategically.
  • Overseeing the collection, procurement, storage, management quality, and protection of data
  • Determining where to cut costs and increase efficiencies based on insights derived from data.
  • Effectively communicating the status, value, and importance of data collection.
  • Strong expertise and background in Python and knowledge management, as well as experience with HTML for maintaining existing web page builds
